Fall Back

Pumpkins are scattered throughout my home in an attempt to create a festive fall atmosphere. Despite the summer like temps and five baby snakes we found in our backyard this weekend, fall appears to be on hiatus.
Football season is in high gear. I'm almost a regular in the Starbucks line alternating between ordering my seasonal favorites: pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin cream cheese muffin. I must admit I made one heck of a knock off latte Sunday morning. Yum! I don't even want to know how many Zumba sessions I need to burn off one of those treats!
Where are the crisp fall mornings? When can we "fall back", layer our cozy sweaters and bust out the Uggs and velour pants (not together, of course)?
I love the relaxed schedule of the summer, but fall and spring weather are to die for! Come on fall.....

Lessons Learned

Mothering two boys has taught me...
1. I do not qualify to receive leftovers. There will be no extras.
2. I must ask the difficult questions: "Did you clean your behind?" and
"Did that come out of your nose?"
3. Don't bother pre-treating any stains. They'll match the ones from last week.
4. Never, ever leave home without hand gel and tissue.
5. Blue jeans are "holey". Literally.
6. Owning stock in Band-Aid is critical.
7. Gross=Funny
8. You won't surprise the doctors and nurses in the E.R.
9. Shopping as you know it will never be the same.
10. The Five Second Rule, unlike many others, gets much respect.

It's a Girl!

Boy, have we been busy! We finally got a family pet. She's an early Christmas present for the boys. They've been asking for years and I'm not sure they knew what they were asking for! It's a good thing I wanted one, too. I've been doing quite a bit of extra work dealing with our new pal, Coco. We're knee deep in housebreaking. Hopefully by Christmas she'll be well behaved!
